Most weeks go off the rails for the same reason: small commitments pile up in different places, and nobody looks at the whole picture. A weekly review fixes that. With AI doing the sorting, it takes about twenty minutes.
What you need
- Your calendar for the past and coming week
- Your to-do list or a scrap of paper
- Any notes from meetings or messages you owe a reply to
The routine
Minutes 1-5: Dump everything. Paste your calendar, your open tasks, and anything on your mind into one message. Rough is fine.
Minutes 5-10: Sort. Ask the AI to group items into: this week, later, waiting on someone, and drop. Check its choices. You decide what is truly important.
Minutes 10-15: Find the problems. Ask it to spot conflicts, overloaded days, and things without a next step. A useful prompt:
Here is my calendar and task list for next week: [PASTE]. Find conflicts, flag the three things that matter most, suggest what to defer or drop, and propose a realistic schedule with buffer time. Ask before moving anything that is fixed.
Minutes 15-18: Draft the loose ends. Have it write the short messages you have been putting off, such as a follow-up, a reschedule, or a thank you.
Minutes 18-20: Pick three. Choose the three outcomes that would make the week a win. Put them where you will see them on Monday.
Make it stick
- Same time every week, same place
- Keep the prompt saved so you only paste new material
- Review last week's three outcomes first
For the household too
Add family schedules, bills due, and errands. Ask for a combined view and a list of anything with no one assigned. It is a gentle way to stop the same Sunday-night scramble.
Remember who decides
AI can organize and suggest, but it does not know what matters to you. Treat its plan as a draft and adjust.
